Polina is privacy and product counsel with a special emphasis on technology and online product lifecycle counseling. Her areas of focus are data privacy and security, consumer protection, and technology platform issues such as Algorithmic transparency, Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices, GDPR, COPPA, and issues of tech ethics, such as AI Law, facial recognition and Data Ethics.

At Airbnb, she counsels all levels of management and cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, engineers, product marketers, operations teams, customer service teams, user experience specialists, user interface experts, researchers and lawyers. She provides legal and ethical advice critical to effective decision-making. Polina has strong global experience and has worked in challenging regulatory markets while providing advice related to adapting products to evolving global legal, ethical, and commercial environments.

Prior to Airbnb, she was counsel at Uber and Apple advising on issues of Privacy, Law Enforcement Compliance, Marketing, and Product. Before she was a lawyer, she was a preschool teacher and later, an investigator of police misconduct in New York City.

Polina is a mom of two very young beautiful boys, she’s an avid traveler, swimmer, and adventurer and can’t wait to show the beautiful natural world to her children.
