Jill E. McFarland

Corporate Counsel

Jill McFarland is lead privacy and cybersecurity counsel at The Sherwin-Williams Company, a Fortune 200 company and global leader in the manufacture, development, distribution and sale of paint, coatings and related products.  She has extensive experience monitoring new privacy and data security legal developments globally, and working with her colleagues across disciplines to implement practical compliance programs to address these developments. She also has extensive experience in privacy and cybersecurity contracting and incident response.  

Her responsibilities at Sherwin-Williams also include a broad variety of human resources compliance issues, including benefits, compensation and employment related matters, and the intersection between these areas and privacy and cybersecurity.  Prior to Sherwin-Williams, Jill was an associate attorney at Jones Day. She also has experience working at the Federal Trade Commission, where her work focused on emerging technologies and privacy-related issues. She holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from Oberlin College.
